Care Instructions
Care Instructions
Sweat and moisture are the main enemies
Boxing gloves are the most difficult to take care of. This is because they are subject to a lot of wear and tear, both inside and out. The gloves wear out quickly due to perspiration, which gets on the surface as well as inside. Many manufacturers try to solve this problem by means of special ventilation nets. It helps but doesn't solve the problem 100%.
How to take care of your martial arts equipment
The best way to protect gloves from wear and tear is to minimise sweat absorption. To do this, special inner liners are used to help absorb sweat, which helps extend its life.
Additionally a special air freshener for gloves can be used. It absorbs excess moisture and has antibacterial properties. By using a glove freshener, the unpleasant odour disappears and the possibility of infection is prevented. A similar freshener is also used for shoes, which are also problematic to care for. This product can also be used to neutralise the unpleasant odour of sweat in training bags.
Disinfecting
Unpleasant odour is not the biggest problem. Protective gear can be a breeding ground for all sorts of viruses and bacteria. Regular rinsing and disinfecting of this equipment is recommended to prevent the development of infections. You can use special disinfectant spray. When choosing a spray, it is important to pay attention to the instructions for use of the product. It must be suitable for the materials of your training gear. After using a spray we recommend that you wash protective gear with a damp cloth and allow it to dry completely.
Genuine leather care
Training gear made of natural leather is able to absorb and release moisture. But after some time, it can get a little rough and cracks can form. In addition, it loses its original colour. To prevent premature wear of your leather exercise equipment, we recommend taking care of it after each training session. Special lotions and oils can be used for this purpose:
essential oil;lavender oil;Tea tree oil, etc.
When choosing a suitable product, you should pay attention to its composition. It should be free of solvents, alcohol and other ingredients which can affect the durability and condition of the skin.
If you don't have a spray you can use a bag of rice. It is very hygroscopic and effectively absorbs excess moisture from inside your gloves or shoes.
Baking soda, which has antibacterial properties, can also be used to neutralise unpleasant odours.
Wash your mouth guard
It is recommended to wash your mouthguard after each usage. You can also disinfect your mouthguard by washing it with anti-bacterial soap and water. Just be sure to rinse carefully to prevent any soapy aftertaste. It’s also a good idea to wash the inside and outside of your mouthguard case with soap and water.
